2nd round of Sensitization cum review meeting of Statistical Advisers in Central Ministries/Departments to be held on 23rd December, 2024 in New Delhi

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), acts as a nodal agency for planning and integrated development of the statistical system in the country. With this mandate and in order to further strengthen the statistical coordination between MoSPI and other Central Ministries/Departments and, to put in place an institutional mechanism, MoSPI has defined the roles and responsibilities of Statistical Advisers in all Central Ministries/Departments. To sensitize the Statistical Advisers about their role and responsibilities, a half-day workshop was held on 29-08-2024.

In continuation of the above and furtherance of the objective of greater statistical coordination with Central Ministries/Department, MoSPI is organizing the 2nd round of sensitization cum review meeting of Statistical Advisers of Central Ministries/Departments on 23rd December 2024 at Kaushal Bhawan, New Moti Bagh, New Delhi.

The meeting is scheduled to discuss a range of important matters including AI Curation Units /IndiaAI Datasets Platform; Institutional Readiness for emerging technologies; Uses of Collection of Statistics (CoS) Act, 2008; Institutional mechanisms for metadata reporting, data quality reviews, and MoSPI’s role in extending technical cooperation; Infrastructure Project Monitoring; Coordination on Global Indices and Effective Use of Surveys, etc.

Apart from the officers of MoSPI, Statistical Advisers and other representatives of Central Ministries/ Departments are expected to participate in the meeting.
