Demand for technology skills among captives or global development centres in India has grown 22% during the second half of this last financial year, said staffing and business solutions major in a report.
The staffing major said roles such as IT security, full stack developers witnessed 166% and 110% growth, respectively, in demand from captives, between October 2020 and March 2021.

Banking and financial services, technology services and consulting, auto and engineering and have significantly contributed to the demand from the captive centres.
Technology platforms such as Salesforce, SAP HANA, and ServiceNow have been witnessing increased demand, according to Quess.
The staffing major said Bengaluru saw the highest growth in demand followed by Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune.
“The quarter-wise trends from Oct-Nov-Dec 2020 to Jan-Feb-Mar 2021 indicates a significant spike
in demand is witnessed in IT Security (more than 166%), Full Stack (more than 110%), Android Developers (more than 80%), Data Analytics (more than 44.7%) and Angular JS (more than 40%),” said Quess, adding that these emerged as top five skills.
“The demand for IT skill sets among captives in India has grown exponentially with organizations taking a skill-based approach while hiring their workforce. These trends showcase the evolving focus areas of the captives and large organizations as they build and transform their technology capabilities,” said Vijay Sivaram, chief executive officer, Quess IT Staffing.
He added that “firms are increasingly seeking candidates who are agile, creative and skilled in this new era of work.”
