• Winners walk away with prize worth 20 lakhs at the esports event
Hyderabad, India, October 14, 2019 : The fourth edition of AMD’s flagship annual gaming tournament, GameOn, was hosted in Hyderabad, at the HITEX Convention Center, on the sidelines of Comic Con on October 12-13.
GameOn 2019 saw over 56 teams and 600 individual gamers compete in various esports tournaments. The winners and participants walked away with prizes worth INR 20 Lakhs.
The two-day event was inaugurated by Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Telangana; Joel Reifman, Hyderabad U.S. Consul General, and Andrej Zdravkovic, Corporate Vice President, Software Development & Management, AMD.
The CSGO tournament was won by Mumbai based team, U Mumba Esports and DOTA2 championship was bagged by Wasted Potentials. Fawzan was the last man standing in Fortnite, Sudheer N. took the PUBG crown and Rondla Pranav was the lucky winner of the raffle draw. He took home, a powerful gaming rig built by AMD engineers using Ryzen 7 3700X and the Radeon RX 5700XT.
The visitors got to see and experience the best of gaming performance on rigs powered by the latest AMD Ryzen processors and AMD Radeon graphic cards. In addition to esports, fans also had access to 15+ PC game titles and latest VR games in the free play zone.
AMD GameOn also had a job centre where interested candidates uploaded their resumes by scanning the QR code displayed at the booth. Over 200 candidates registered. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to apply for exciting career opportunities at AMD.
