• Latest issue of the R&M specialist magazine for network technology published
WETZIKON, Switzerland / BENGALURU, India – November 1, 2019 : R&M, the globally active developer and provider of cabling systems for high-quality network infrastructures, based in Wetzikon, Switzerland, is once again focusing on developments in the data center market in the latest issue of its specialist magazine CONNECTIONS.
The report in the focus story on data centers confirms that the boom in the sector is continuing. But the various segments, such as hyper scale, edge and micro data centers, are developing very differently from one another. There is a major increase in technical, economical and quality challenges. Among other things, the era of digitalization has to be mastered, fiber optic infrastructures compacted and network operation automated. One of the most important aspects is to reduce latencies.
Today, data centers have to operate in a more agile way than ever before and accept shorter migration phases. The networks should be able to be upgraded if possible with plug & play. That is virtually impossible for a traditional architecture. R&M recommends that cabling should be planned holistically, precisely and with a view to future upgrades. Planners and those responsible for networks can make use of the suggestions in the lead story to find orientation points for the next phases on the data center market.
In the specialist magazine, R&M also provides information for infrastructure planning. With inteliPhy net customers now have a solution which supports network management digitalization. And in response to the changes in infrastructure, R&M is launching the FO platform Netscale 72. It enables staggered migration in running network operations. All these solutions and other products help to efficiently handle, monitor and extend FO cabling.
In five case studies, CONNECTIONS demonstrates future-proof cabling solutions for hospitals, police stations, advertising agencies and Internet exchange points. A riveting report from Seattle describes the hyper connectivity requirements of the Westin Building Exchange. The tower block is a significant telecommunications hub on the west coast of America and also home to more than 200 companies from the Internet and cloud sector. Since 2018, R&M has equipped the hub with tailor-made, pre-terminated cabling.
