VIT-AP University Students in IBM Hackathon Finals

NASSCOM as part of the Future skills initiative along with IBM had organized a National Online Hackathon – Crack the COVID -19 Crisis. The Hackathon kick-started on 25th April 2020 wherein NASSCOM invited STEM students across India to participate and build practical and effective solutions using technologies such as Cloud, Data & Artificial Intelligence.

The objective of this hackathon was to look for innovative solutions to solve India’s biggest challenge in the present construct, the national socio-economic crisis caused by COVID- 19 pandemic.

Of the 26,478 registrations, from more than 500 Institutes across 26 States and Union Territories participated in the Hackathon.

Evaluation is in progress and 16 top submissions are short-listed. Out of the 16 teams, 5 Teams are students of various campuses of VIT. The final round of evaluation is in “Shark Tank” style (based on popular TV series – Shark Tank) whereby the team will pitch ideas, the solution to a panel of investors (Sharks), and persuade them to invest in their idea. Four students of VIT-AP university of the team “_init_iators” have made their place to compete in the finals. The Final Results will be declared on the 8th of June, 2020.

The students of VIT-AP University have shown remarkable skills and attribute their strengths to the university for the facilities it provides for students to hone their skills.
