Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 5G telecom services on today at the inauguration ceremony of the India Mobile Congress which will conclude on October 4. The 5G telecom services aim at providing ultra high-speed internet services on smartphones. The 5G launch event was also joined by three major telecom giants in India — Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The three telecom operators demonstrated the use case each to show the potential of 5G technology in the coming months.
As reported earlier, the accumulative economic impact of 5G services on India is expected to reach $450 billion (nearly Rs. 36,61,200 crore) in the next 13 years. 5G services promise to offer speed a thousand times faster speed than the current 4G services, along with lag-free connectivity.
Other benefits of the 5G services include seamless coverage, high data rate with low latency, and smooth communications.
