OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 9, 2022) – Employees of Paycom Software Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, served veterans and their families through volunteer activities and donating to military causes ahead of Veterans Day.
The military appreciation efforts included giving over $64,500 to veteran-focused organizations, an exercise challenge in which $1 was raised for every activity completed by employees and preparing deployment packs for active service members.
“Paycom is honored to serve those who have sacrificed for our nation,” said Justin Long, executive vice president of operations at Paycom. “Our employees have been enthusiastic about supporting our veterans, active military members and their families through these initiatives.”
Supporting children of those killed in duty
Paycom presented a $20,000 check to Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), a nonprofit that ensures comprehensive education from preschool through career to surviving children of Special Operations personnel lost in the line of duty as well as children of all Medal of Honor recipients, along with a variety of other practical programs and services.
“We appreciate the generous support of Paycom and their employees,” said retired Maj. Gen. Clay Hutmacher, president and CEO of SOWF. “As we serve the children and families of our nation’s heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, we are grateful for the continued support of caring organizations such as Paycom.”
The donation is part of Paycom’s ongoing employee giving campaign, an opportunity for team members to donate to a variety of local and national causes.
Participating in ‘BurpeesForVets’
Paycom also contributed $44,509 to Courage Foundation through a “BurpeesForVets” challenge. Paycom donated $1 for each burpee completed by employees at its Oklahoma City and Grapevine locations during the first week of November. Courage Foundation supports the mental health and lives of veterans living with post-traumatic stress.
“It’s an honor to partner with Paycom for the BurpeesForVets Challenge,” said Sid Ellington, executive director of Courage Foundation and retired U.S. Navy SEAL. “Beyond demonstrating a deep commitment to supporting our nation’s heroes upon their transition out of military service, Paycom’s creative involvement in this campaign is pioneering a new era of corporate philanthropy.”
Stuffing deployment packs
Paycom employees also volunteered their time to stuff deployment packs and write thank-you notes to those serving. Over 750 packs were stuffed through Paycom’s partnership with United Service Organizations (USO).
Throughout the year, Paycom supports local and national causes through several initiatives that strengthen families and communities, including corporate giving, employee giving and volunteer events.
