PETALING JAYA: Microsoft chairman and chief executive officer Satya Nadella’s visit to South-East Asia – including a stop in Kuala Lumpur – has been postponed, according to Thai news portal, The Nation.
In the report, it said that the Kuala Lumpur stop originally scheduled for March 20 has been postponed.
It also quoted Microsoft Thailand as saying that the event in Thailand is being rescheduled and further details will be announced as soon as possible.
However, no reason was given for the postponement.
Nadella was scheduled to visit Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta during his South-East Asian tour from March 19 to 21, where he was slated to attend a separate Microsoft Build: AI Day.
The stop would have been Nadella’s first visit to Malaysia since he took over the top post from Steve Ballmer 10 years ago.
Prior to this, Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said on March 15 that he will facilitate a meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Nadella.
