With digital technologies, banks can enhance operational efficiency and reach where traditional bank branches cannot, experts said on Thursday.
In an event titled ‘Digital Thinking for Digital Enterprise’, organised by Intellect Design Arena Ltd along with Sonali Intellect at a hotel in the capital Dhaka, they discussed the journey towards a digital enterprise for banks starting with technology.
In the keynote speech, Debdulal Roy, executive director of the Bangladesh Bank, said that digital transformation presented an array of opportunities for the banks in Bangladesh.
He said, ‘By harnessing the power of digital technologies, banks can not only enhance customer experience but also drive operational efficiency and tap into previously unexplored market segments.’
Ramanan SV, director of Sonali Intellect, who is also chief executive officer of Intellect Design Arena, India and South Asia, said that confluence of industry experts brought together a wealth of ideas on how financial institutions could digitally empower themselves to prepare for becoming the next-gen powerhouses.
Following the speeches, two-panels discussed ‘Banks Becoming Digital Marketplaces – Business and Technology.’
The panel members highlighted user comfort, responsibility of the banks and cyber security in their discussion.
