Manhunt underway for suspects following murder and robbery of hardware store manager in Groblersdal

Police in Groblersdal have initiated a manhunt for armed suspects who shot and killed a manager of a hardware store and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash on Friday afternoon, 29 March 2024 at about 16:00.

Police responded to a shooting incident along the N11 road between Schoembee farms. Upon arrival, together with the Medical Emergency Services, they found the male driver inside his vehicle who had been shot multiple times. He was certified dead on the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 33-year-old man had just knocked off from work at Leeufontein village where he was employed as a manager of a hardware store when he was accosted by unidentified suspects.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has called upon community members to provide information about these ruthless criminals while police investigations are ongoing to hunt down and arrest the suspects.

Police have opened a case of murder and robbery.
