For the first time, National Institute of Technology Delhi (NIT-D) was placed in the top 100 in the Education Ministry’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) under the engineering category in 2023. The institute, established in 2010, is one of the 31 NITs and is an autonomous institution of national importance under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, under the act of Parliament 2007.
In the last five years of rankings including NIRF overall categories or rankings research, NIT Delhi did not make it to the list.

NIT Delhi ranked 51 under the engineering category which is higher when compared to 2022. In 2022, NIT Delhi achieved a 194 score.
The institution has scored 68.7 in teaching, learning, and resources (TRL), 29.84 in research and professional practice (RPC), 63.58 in graduation outcomes (GO), 72.41 in outreach and inclusivity (OI), and 19.60 in peer perception, all out of 100 in NIRF 2023.
NIT-Delhi: Courses introduced
The Delhi-based technology institute recently introduced a BTech programme in artificial intelligence and data science and MTech programme in smart material and technologies, mathematics and computing, and power and energy system from academic sessions 2023-2024 in order to align with the NEP 2020 guidelines.
Additionally, the institute offers a range of undergraduate (BTech) programs in five core engineering disciplines computer science and engineering (CSE), electronics and communication engineering (ECE), mechanical engineering (ME), electronic engineering (EE), and civil engineering (CE).
For students seeking advanced studies, NIT Delhi offers MTech programs in six specialisations, along with PhD programmes across all branches of science and engineering.
