Sony Bravia 2 series launched in India; gaming focused S25 4K models start at Rs 74,990

Sony has launched the Bravia 2 series, a cutting-edge line of 4K Ultra HD LED TVs at relatively affordable pricing. This new series features Google TV software, allowing users easy access to a vast array of apps, streaming services, and live TV channels. The series includes two models: the gaming focused S25, and the S20, which focuses on other advanced features without the gaming enhancements.

The Bravia 2 series comes in a choice of 43-, 50-, 55-, and 65-screen sizes. Powering the TVs is Sony’s X1 Picture Processor, which uses algorithms to reduce noise and enhance detail. This results in a clearer 4K signal, bringing everything you watch closer to true 4K resolution with vibrant, life-like colors powered by Live Color technology, Sony claims.

Additionally, the 4K X-Reality Pro technology upscales 2K and 1080p content to near 4K quality using a unique 4K database. Motionflow XR ensures smooth and sharp details even during fast-moving sequences, using MEMC technology.

The Bravia 2 series TVs are equipped with open baffle down-firing twin speakers that deliver 20 watts of powerful sound with Dolby Audio support. Their Clear Phase technology precisely analyses the speaker’s frequency response, identifying and correcting any peaks or dips. This results in pure, natural audio with smooth, even reproduction of all frequencies, Sony says.

Specifically for the S25 series, Sony has put ALLM in HDMI 2.1, allowing the TV to recognise when a gaming console is connected and powered on, and automatically switch to low latency mode. Additionally, the Auto HDR Tone Mapping feature optimises HDR settings instantly during while setting up a PS5 on it. The PS5 automatically identifies the specific Bravia TV model and selects the ideal HDR settings. The TV also switches to Game Mode automatically to minimise input lag and enhance responsiveness.

The Bravia 2 S25 range comes in a choice of 55- and 65-inch screen sizes at a price of Rs 74,990 and Rs 95,990, respectively. General availability is pegged for May 24 across all Sony Centres, major electronic stores and e-commerce portals in India. Sony is yet to announce price and availability of the S20 models though it has confirmed that it will come in 43- and 50-inch screen sizes.
