India patent for Nanollose fibre technology

PERTH – Australian textile innovator Nanollose has been awarded a patent in India for its technology which ferments organic waste from the food and beverage industries to produce microbial cellulose which can be spun into fibres.

The patent for the Nullarbor lyocell fibre technology process follows a joint application from the company and Grasim Industries, part of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the world’s largest man-made cellulosic fibre producers.
