Urges Newly Recruited Labour Officers to Prioritize Worker Welfare and Uphold Pro-Nation Values

Emphasizes the Need for Officers to Serve with Integrity and Dedication

Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya handed over appointment letters to 34 newly recruited Labour Enforcement Officers (LEOs) in the organisation of Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), at a function held in the New Delhi today. Smt Sumita Dawra, Secretary, L&E and other senior officers of the Ministry were also present on the occasion.

Congratulating the newly selected officers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya encouraged them to work diligently for the welfare of workers and to facilitate compliance with labour laws. He urged the officers to uphold the principles of integrity, dedication, and commitment while maintaining the highest standards in their work. Dr. Mandaviya emphasized their crucial role in fostering harmonious industrial relations and called upon them to approach their responsibilities with a pro-people and pro-nation spirit.

Highlighting their responsibilities, Dr. Mandaviya reminded the officers of the importance of their contributions in shaping a fair and inclusive labour environment. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the nation’s progress, working with an upright and service-oriented approach for the betterment of society.

Secretary Labour & Employment, Smt. Sumita Dawra, in her address, highlighted the crucial role of the newly selected officers in enhancing the ease of doing business and attracting investments in the country while prioritizing labour welfare. She emphasized that their role as Inspector-cum-Facilitators would contribute to economic growth and improved employment conditions for workers.

Smt. Dawra further stated that Labour Extension Officers are the backbone of the Central Industrial Relations Machinery (CIRM) and play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of government welfare schemes and programmes for the benefit of stakeholders.

These 34 newly appointed Labour Enforcement Officers are joining the government service with very strong academic and professional background. 20 officers have Law degree, while 08 officers are Management graduate, 01 officer is a Chartered Accountant and 01 is a PhD scholar.

All these officers have been posted on all India basis and their postings have been given on the basis of their merit.
