SMART ASIA India-Expo & Summit Returns to Bangalore

• Aspires to end India’s traffic jams, healthcare burden and water and energy scarcity

Bengalore, September 27, 2018 : The SMART ASIA India-Expo & Summit, organized by TWTC, a Taiwanese non-profit government-sponsored trade promotion organization, is being held for the second consecutive year at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from October 4-6, 2018.

This year’s event will once again bring together industry leaders in the smart city domain to showcase thousands of smart city solutions, highlighting responses to current urban crises and future Smart Cities development in India. Exhibitors comprise outstanding Taiwanese companies in the fields of ‘Smart Transportation’, ‘Smart Energy & Water management’, ‘Smart City Development & Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘IoT Solutions’.

For instance, Advantech, the leader in industrial PC with a global market share of 32%, will display its smart transportation solutions, which can help relieve Bangalore of its traffic congestion. Ever Clear Environmental Engineering, an expert in water management developing and implementing patented waste water reactors in Southeast Asia, the Middle EastAfrica and Latin America, will present solutions catering to the current needs of Indian industries. H.P.B. Opto electronics, the third largest automotive opto electronics manufacturer in the world, provides a total image solution using its intelligent camera monitoring modules, and aims to support India in creating more secure city-living. Moreover, enterprises such as J.S. Power and Fukuta will showcase their e-vehicle solutions, which can serve to empower India toward its goal for green and environmental-friendly mobility.

When promoting the second edition of SMART ASIA IndiaMr. James Huang, Chairman of Taipei World Trade Centre, expressed his expectations of the event. “We received a significant level of recognition and active participation from government and industry stakeholders in the first edition. This year we are expecting the number of visitors to increase by 50 percent. Taiwan has been one of India’s important trade partners with a total investment of US $602 million as of July 2018. We look forward to further reinforcing the business ties between the two countries through the platform of SMART ASIA.”

A highlight of SMART ASIA is the ‘India-Taiwan Smart City Summit’. This year, the Summit will gather authoritative speakers from across the globe representing India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Intelligent Transportation Society-Taiwan (ITS-Taiwan), Tata Sons, Cisco, Microsoft, just to name a few, and will focus on topics including IndiaTaiwan’s bilateral collaboration on ‘Smart Cities Mission’, leveraging data to realize the Smart Cities vision, and future trends and opportunities in the field of smart city.

In order to achieve better integration for the Smart City community, the event has partnered up with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), ITS-Taiwan, Advanced Public Transportation Research Center (APTRC) in Taiwan, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), and World Trade Center Bangalore (WTC Bengaluru). The event will be held from October 4-6, 2018, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
