We’re proud to announce that CRN lists the CN-Series container firewall one of the hottest cybersecurity products of 2020.
CN-Series is the industry’s first containerized Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) designed specifically for Kubernetes environments and addresses growing container usage. According to a Forrester Consulting study conducted on behalf of Capital One, “Cloud Container Adoption in the Enterprise,” 86% of IT leaders are prioritizing the use of containers for more applications.
“As more and more organizations rely on containerized applications and workloads in Kubernetes environments, they need network security solutions designed specifically for cloud native environments,” said Anand Oswal, SVP, products, firewall as a platform at Palo Alto Networks. “With CN-Series, competitive organizations can rapidly secure containerized applications and workloads – without slowing the speed of development.”
We’re glad to see the excitement about CN-Series since its launch this summer, and we think some of its appeal comes from attention to detail. We believe complete container security requires the following protections:
- Vulnerability management.
- Runtime security.
- Identity-based microsegmentation.
- NGFW capabilities such as securing encrypted traffic, threat prevention, DNS security and more.
Along with Prisma Cloud 2.0 – the industry’s most comprehensive Cloud Native Security Platform – CN-Series provides all of these features, including Layer 7 NGFW capabilities and advanced threat protection. This provides organizations with unprecedented, holistic cloud security.
CRN notes, “Kubernetes is red hot right now,” and CN-Series takes this phenomenon into account by making it easy to incorporate security in Kubernetes environments. Because CN-Series deployment and configuration is completely native to Kubernetes, the container firewall can be deployed with simple Kubernetes commands and easily integrated into existing DevOps workflows for fast, repeatable deployments.
And to ensure network security consistency and accuracy throughout the infrastructure, Panorama security management provides centralized administration across physical, virtual and containerized environments. Features such as a Panorama Kubernetes plugin allows customers to enforce context-aware policies in CN-Series as well as in other members of our ML-Powered NGFW platform: VM-Series virtual firewalls and PA-Series hardware firewalls.
To find out how CN-Series is ready to provide constant and consistent Kubernetes network security, read our in-depth eBook, “CN-Series Container Firewalls for Kubernetes.” You’ll discover how to protect critical container traffic – without slowing development.
