Andrey Efremov joined Kaspersky Lab more than 14 years ago as a system analyst in the company’s research and development team. In his various roles, he was involved in the development of a system for automated malware analysis, led the development and implementation of the renowned Kaspersky Security Network cloud system, and also managed the development from scratch of Kaspersky Lab’s award winning Whitelisting technology.
Commenting on the news, Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab, said, “During his many years with the company, Andrey has distinguished himself as a talented technical professional and an effective team manager. As the security market moves from strictly endpoint and AV-focused offerings toward securing clouds of all kinds and complex solutions for protection from advanced threats, Andrey’s solid experience in large-scale IT infrastructure projects, combined with an excellent knowledge of our product portfolio and clear business-vision, is precisely what the company needs. He’ll undoubtedly help the company in its further successful development.”
Nikita Shvetsov, the company’s former CTO, is leaving to pursue new opportunities outside of the company.
Eugene Kaspersky added, “Speaking for both the company and me personally, I want to thank Nikita for his more than 14 years with us. During this time he proved himself to be a thoughtful, business-oriented leader. He managed to maintain our top-notch performance in independent tests, and to broaden our product range with new additions, like the Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform and Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response. He developed a comprehensive portfolio of security services and constantly proved the company’s overall technological dominance and leadership. I sincerely hope that our paths will cross again in the future.”
