Experienced leader to succeed John Goodman, CEO since 2017
Accenture Federal Services has appointed Ron Ash as CEO, effective September 1, 2024. Ash succeeds John Goodman, who will step down as CEO and Chair of the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers on August 31, 2024, and retire on March 31, 2025.
Ash, Chief Operating Officer since 2022, is a proven leader at Accenture Federal Services, with an exceptional track record of using the latest technologies and innovation to help clients solve complex challenges. Ash will advance the company’s ability to help the US federal government embrace new technologies, such as generative AI, to create greater value and reinvent how it delivers its missions in the US and around the world. He will also become Chair of the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers.
“Ron Ash is the right leader for Accenture Federal Services in this time of reinvention with data, technology and AI,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO, Accenture. “I wholeheartedly support the Accenture Federal Board’s decision to select Ron as the next CEO. He brings both broad and deep experience across the government and commercial worlds, technology, and strategy, and a strong, proven commitment to creating value for clients, people and communities. I look forward to working with Ron in his new role and bringing the best of Accenture to help the US federal government.”
Goodman has served as CEO since 2017, doubling the size of the company and its workforce to 15,500 people. During this time, Accenture Federal Services rose from No. #13 to No. #9 on the Washington Technology Top 100 federal industry list. Under Goodman’s leadership, Accenture Federal Services increased investment in emerging technologies, advanced R&D, and human-centric design and acquired both Novetta and Cognosante. Goodman also led a significant expansion of the company’s talent development, culture, inclusion and diversity, and workforce development programs, including creating more apprenticeships-in-training, jobs, career pathways, and training for underrepresented communities, veterans and military spouses.
“Over his incredible career, John has contributed enormously to the growth and success of Accenture Federal Services,” added Sweet. “His leadership and commitment set new standards for how to serve clients, grow the business, embrace new technologies and ways of working, and bring everyone along on the journey. We wish him all the best in his next exciting chapter.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to our people at Accenture Federal Services for everything they have done for our clients, our company, and each other,” said Goodman. “I am confident that Ron will keep our company at the forefront of change and continue to meet the US federal government’s most important needs.”
“I’m deeply honored to serve as the next CEO of Accenture Federal Services,” said Ash. “Our people are the heart of everything we do, and I’m thrilled to lead such an exceptional team. I look forward to shaping the future of the federal government together and making a lasting impact on the missions we serve.”
