“APQC’s 2023 KM survey identified three top priorities for the year: boosting KM participation/engagement; identifying, mapping, and prioritizing critical knowledge; and increasing the maturity of KM programs,” said Lynda Braksiek, APQC’s principal research lead, knowledge management. “The 2023 Excellence in KM recipients have demonstrated their leadership in tackling these and other key priorities, providing best practice examples of how to establish and run effective KM programs.”
“While business challenges and technologies change over time, APQC’s research has consistently demonstrated that commitment to core knowledge management principles and practices enables leading organizations to generate the most value from their KM programs,” said Cindy Hubert, executive director of client solutions for APQC. “The companies we recognize are outstanding examples of this as they provide the continuous learning, strategic integration, and organizational agility their organizations need to meet the challenges of their industries.”
Launched in 2019, the Excellence in KM recognition is based on analysis from APQC’s Knowledge Management Capability Assessment Tool and provides an evidence-based methodology to measure and evaluate KM competencies across four categories: strategy, people, process, and information technology. The best-in-class examples provided by APQC’s research help others accelerate their learning of how to build and sustain a similar level of success and business impact in their own knowledge-related capabilities.
APQC will soon publish in-depth information on this year’s recipients. Visit the Excellence in KM landing page for updates and to learn about previous recipients. Those interested in submitting an assessment for their organization should visit the assessment page.
