April 2024 in Israeli tech funding: Over $1 billion in 20 deals

Over $1.01 billion were raised by Israeli startups across 20 deals during April, the first month since August 2022 in which local startups netted over $1 billion in investments. This is almost three times the $377 million raised by Israeli startups in April of last year.

The excellent April came on the back of a strong March, with Israeli startups raising a total of more than $1.8 billion over the last two months. The main reason for the increase is that for a second straight month there were four mega-rounds ($100 million or more) announced.

Israel’s newest cyber unicorn, Cyera, led the way when it raised $300 million, almost tripling its valuation to $1.4 billion. The company has registered rapid growth since raising $100 million at a $500 million valuation last June. Cyber startup Island doubled its valuation to $3 billion in its $175 million Series D, while Guesty raised $130 million at a $900 million valuation. Guesty’s platform provides both enterprise and SMB property managers as well as individual hosts with tools to manage the entire rental journey. Early in the month, AI chip unicorn Hailo netted another $120 million, taking its total funding to more than $340 million.
