DHAKA, March 24 (Xinhua) — Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sunday inaugurated the combined military hardware exhibition on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day which falls on March 26.
She opened the display at the National Parade Square in the city by cutting a ribbon and releasing balloons, United News of Bangladesh (UNB) reported.
The exhibition with hardware of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force will be open for visitors from March 26 to March 30.
The stalls of the display highlighted the contributions and heroic roles of the armed forces in the Liberation War, projecting the development and modernization of the forces by the present government in the last 15 years.
The role of the armed forces in building the country and the nation, as well as their contributions to the United Nations peacekeeping missions, were also highlighted at the stalls set up by members of the three services. ■
