A memorandum of understanding renewed ceremony between BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, Bangladesh, and National Institute of Fashion and Technology, India, was held recently in India.
With the MoU, both institutes will be able to do collaborative activities in the areas of academics, training and research on the basis of equality and reciprocity, said a press release.
Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, chairman, board of trustees, BUFT and Tanu Kashyap, IAS, DG of NIFT signed the MoU on behalf of both parties.
Faruque Hassan, BGMEA president and founder member of BoT, BUFT, Sharmin Islam Hassan, professor engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, pro-vice-chancellor of BUFT, textile entrepreneurs, academicians witnessed the signing ceremony.
Rachna Shah, textile secretary, ministry of textiles of India, was present as chief guest in the closing session of the ceremony.
BUFT and NIFT’s MoU was first signed by Mozaffar U Siddique, former founder chairman of BUFT and DG of NIFT on September 6, 2011, in Dhaka in presence of the then prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Manmohan Singh, former prime minister of India.
Meanwhile, another new academic collaboration agreement signed between BUFT, Bangladesh and Namuna College of Fashion and Technology, Nepal.
