Department of Social Justice and Empowerment actively participates in Special Campaign 4.0, with focus on the spirit of ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata’

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), along with the organizations under it, actively participated in the Special Campaign 4.0. Efforts were made to de-clutter and optimise office environments by removing outdated and unnecessary items, ensuring that these items were disposed-off. The Special Campaign 4.0 was launched by Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) for institutionalizing Swachhata and minimizing pendency in Government offices from 2^nd October to 31^st October, 2024.

This year, like earlier practice, the Campaign was divided into two phases. Phase-I (Preparatory Phase), from 16^th – 30^th September 2024, was focused on identifying pending issues such as references from MPs, State Governments, and other Ministries, as well as public grievances. It also involved identifying areas that need cleaning, beautification, and improvement. Phase-II (Main Phase), which swings from 2^nd to 31^st October 2024, was dedicated to resolving the identified issues and carrying out the cleaning and sprucing up of Office Space, weeding out of files, addressing and disposing PMO references, public grievances, MPs and State Governments references.

During the Preparatory Phase of the campaign, this Department has identified References from MPs, Public Grievances, e-files were also selected for review /closure, physical files were earmarked for review and subsequently for weeding out, PMO references and PG Appeals were identified for disposal. Apart from this, 27 Cleanliness sites have been cleaned including all the Organizations, Autonomous Bodies and Corporations under this Department that required sprucing and cleaning. This Department actively participated in the identification drive and the pendency was also uploaded on the SCDPM portal. All the Government and NGO / Trust-run educational Institutions where students from SC and OBC communities are pursuing education through Department’s scholarships participated enthusiastically wherein the focus was on the spirit of ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata’.

Identified targets during preparatory phase has been achieved as follows:

100 % Achievements in Cleanliness campaigns, Parliamentary Assurance, Physical Files reviewed and E-files put up for review, 73% achievement in Public Grievances, 66% in PMO References, 50% achievement in References from MPs’ and more than 6369 Sq. Ft. area has been identified, cleaned and freed out under ‘Special Campaign 4.0’, further, an amount of Rs.1,21,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Twenty One Thousand Only) has been generated by disposing of scrap materials.
