BENGALURU: DXC Technology said it will hire 7,000 from campuses across the country this year — 56% higher than the 4,500 it had recruited last year.
The move comes as IT services companies continue to ride the wave of high demand from clients wanting to digitally transform their businesses.
DXC, formed by the merger of CSC (Computer Sciences Corp) and the enterprise service business of HP Enterprise, has about 40,000 people in India, out of the 138,000 globally. While such bulk hiring will continue in the near term, the company is developing and reskilling its employees.
This is being done to meet its need for niche skills talent, which it says is critical at a time when the tussle for such people has shot through the roof.
“We are focused on building talent along with buying new ones. 90% of our current roles are filled internally,” said Nachiket Sukhtankar, MD of India at DXC.
