SENDAI, Japan — Japanese contact lens maker Menicon will harness powerful new technology that can peer into the molecular level as it seeks next-generation materials and ways to recycle plastic waste.
The effort will make use of the NanoTerasu synchrotron radiation facility, which is to go into operation as early as April at Tohoku University’s Aobayama campus here in the northeastern city of Sendai. The University of Tokyo will also join the research.
