Hyderabad to Host India’s First-Ever International Blockchain Congress – IBC 2018

Hyderabad, August 1 2018  :  The NITI Aayog, Center for Policy Research (CPR)-Government of India, the State Government of Telangana, the State Government of Goa, and Nucleus Vision organizing the inaugural edition of the International Blockchain Congress (IBC 2018).  The Event will be held on August 3 & 4, 2018, Novotel & HICC Complex, Hyderabad. The event is poised to be the largest confluence of regulators, industry experts, and technology innovators and will be the first of many efforts to transform India into a global powerhouse.

Over 1500+ participants and attendees are expecting for IBC 2018. This will be the world’s largest symposium of thought leaders, investors, policy makers, industrialists, start-ups, and blockchain technologists. The conference will highlight the latest and upcoming trends in blockchain, provide opportunities to meet industry leaders and to network with like-minded people and explore collaboration opportunities.

This first edition of the International Blockchain Congress will host over 1500 participants on a two day conference with keynotes, panel discussions, and deep dives across 40 sessions conducted by over 100 speakers. Our exhibition is open to over 50 companies displaying new technology, products, and services in our expo hall. Along with the startup pitch competition, there will be over 30 additional pitching zones for new technology companies to pitch to potential investors.

IBC HACK — IBC HACKATHON

Leading up to the International Blockchain Congress, they are also organizing a series of events under the theme Road To IBC. A series of hackathons will be held at prominent colleges across India and the best teams from these hackathons will have an opportunity to participate in IBC Hack — the main hackathon held at the conference venue.

IBC Hack aims to uncover and showcase India’s innovative blockchain talent through a 36-hour hackathon. For those from India or globally who cannot attend in person, there will be an International Online Hackathon running through the month of July. At IBC Hack, not only will participants be able to build product prototypes, but they will also be encouraged to present their white papers and showcase their idea to all attendees.

The hackathon is being co-hosted by NITI Aayog, Government of Telangana, Government of Goa, Nucleus Vision and Dunya Labs and implemented by Idealabs and Block91.

When asked what Indian blockchain startups can expect from the conference,  Abhishek Pitti, Founder and CEO of Nucleus Vision said that the event would provide a platform where the “startups can network with key players in the blockchain industry and decision-makers who can make a blockchain-powered India a reality.”

Startups in attendance will have access to meet investors who can provide capital, counsel, marketing support, and possible customer bases,” he added.

Founded in 2014, Nucleus Vision is an IoT and blockchain based contactless identification system. The company is backed by prominent blockchain-focused investment firms including Alphabit Digital Currency Fund, FBG Capital, Kenetic Capital, Turiya Ventures, and BlockAsset.
