Hyderabad, India, January 31, 2020 : The Indian School of Business celebrated its Graduation Day on 25th January, for the graduating classes of Post Graduate Programme for Senior Executives (PGPMAX 2019), Post Graduate Programme for Working Professionals (PGPpro 2019, Delhi and Hyderabad cohort) and Post Graduate Programme in Management for Family Business (PGP MFAB 2019).
A total of 202 students consisting of 64 from PGPMAX Class of 2019, 62 from PGP MFAB Class of 2019 and 76 from PGPpro Class of 2019 (Delhi and Hyderabad Cohort) graduated from ISB. Ashok Wadhwa Group CEO of Ambit Pvt Ltd presided over the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The celebration started with a welcome address by Professor Anand NandKumar, Associate Dean- RCI Management, followed by speeches of Scholar of Excellence from each graduating class.
Sharing his leadership lessons with the graduating class Dean Rajendra Srivastava said, “To be a leader, you need to have a vision and stick to it. Focus on problems worth solving. Take the risk, challenge the status quo. Learn to learn and do the right things in the right way.” He further congratulated the students on becoming ISB alumni and said, “You are going to join a trusted network of thinkers and doers. You also have the responsibility not only to take a job but also to create a job. You are our torch bearers and keep coming back to ISB.”
Congratulating students, Chief Guest Ashok Wadhwa shared several valuable lessons from his personal and entrepreneurial journey. He asked students always to have gratitude, humility, and hard work with perseverance in their lives and careers to be successful. He also told them to learn to embrace failures as there is nothing called permanent in life. On an entrepreneurial side, he told students to embrace good accounting, good governance, and correct capital allocation in their businesses, as that’s the key to success.
The School also celebrated the accomplishments of its students and gave away awards to students who excelled in academics, extra-curricular activities as scholar of excellence. Awards were also given to the best Professors of the Year as selected by the students.
