Microsoft, on Thursday, announced the launch of its first AI-powered Surface PCs for businesses — Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6.
Surface Pro 10 for Business
The anti-reflective display features a 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate with Dolby Vision support. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The maximum brightness on the display is said to be 600 nits.
On the front, it houses a 1440p Quad HD camera and it has a 10.5 MP Ultra HD rear-facing camera.
Microsoft says that the Surface Pro 10 can run for up to 19 hours of typical usage on a single charge. It also supports up to 45W fast charging via Surface Connect or USB-C. The charger will be sold separately.
For security, the device features a Hardware TPM 2.0 chip for enterprise-grade security and BitLocker support, Windows Hello facial recognition with Enhanced Sign-in Security, NFC authentication and Windows 11 Secured-core PC.
Additionally, it comes with two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Surface Connect port and a Surface Pro Keyboard port.
Surface Laptop 6 for Business
The Surface Laptop 6 is available in two sizes — 13.5 inches and 15 inches. Like the Surface Pro 10, it features an anti-reflective display and supports Dolby Vision. The maximum brightness on it, however, is down to 400 nits.
It runs on up to Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with Intel AI Boost. It features 8GB of Intel Graphics and also up to 64GB of Intel Arc Graphics. RAM options include 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM or 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM. For storage, it comes with removable Gen 4 solid state drives (SSD) in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB configurations.
According to Microsoft, the 13.5-inch model can up to 18.5 hours and the 15-inch model can run up to 19 hours on a single charge. Both support up to 45W fast charging via Surface Connect or USB-C. The charger will be sold separately.
It has the same security features as the Surface Pro 6. However, the NFC authentication is replaced here by Integrated smart card reader authentication, available only on select models and markets. Additionally, it houses a 1080p Full HD front-facing camera.
For input/output ports, the 13.5-inch model features one USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port and the 15-inch model features two of those ports. Both come with a USB Type-A port, a 3.5mm headset jack and a Surface Connect port. On top of that, the bigger model also has an integrated smart card reader slot.
Both devices come with a starting price tag of $1,199 (approx Rs 99,936) and will be available starting April 9. Whether or not these devices will be sold in the Indian market is not yet clear. Also, it is important to note that these are B2B devices and will not be sold to individuals.
