Some internet service providers and mobile network operators have been saved by Google’s Equiano subsea cable, as multiple cable breaks necessitated the rerouting of traffic to resolve internet service outages.

Telkom, through Openserve, and Seacom are among the companies that have rerouted traffic onto the high-capacity Equiano cable.

This follows a series of subsea cable breaks affecting internet users in South Africa.
