New Delhi: India skipper Rohit Sharma has turned out to be a leader every team would wish for due to his professional leadership skills on the field and also his on-field humorous conversations with his teammates that go viral on social media. On Saturday, Team India defeated England in the Dharamsala Test, clinching the series 4-1 after which Rohit took some time off with the young Indian players.

The Indian opener also shared a picture of their outing on his social media handle as he was spotted along with Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. A normal outing picture is usually what grabs the attention but here it was certainly Rohit’s caption that broke the internet.

“Garden mein ghoomne wale bande,” Rohit captioned the post, and soon the post’s comment section was filled with laughter emojis as his fans commented and lauded the skipper for his hilarious take. The post also prompted replies from former cricketer Yuvraj Singh (a laughter emoji) and also Suryakumar Yadav who wrote, “Gill and Jaiswal definitely”.

Why the ‘Garden mein’ caption?

For those unversed, the caption-dig refers to a particular stump mic reaction from Rohit during the second Test in Vizag that spread like wildfire on the internet. It was during the ongoing action when Rohit spoke similar lines, “Koi bhi garden mein ghumega, *,” warning the players to stay alert while fielding and not to be drowsy as he was disappointed with the way the youngsters fielded during the game.

Although the post was a cheeky dig at the young quartet, he heaped massive praise on them as they played a vital role in sealing the series. Had it not been for the opening heroics of Jaiswal, Gill’s composure, and the middle-order handling of Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, India could have been at the receiving end.

“These (young) guys are maybe short of experience, they have played a lot of cricket and I can stand here and see that these guys responded pretty well under pressure. The credit goes to the entire team,” Rohit said.
