Hyderabad, India, May 22, 2019 : The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), world’s largest HR professional society, today commenced its 5th HR TECH APAC conference in the city. The two day conference will witness participation from 1500+ delegates, 45+knowledge sessions, 500+ organizations, 150+ speakers, and 200+ CXOs across the globe. Ms Achal Khanna, CEO of SHRM India and Business Head- MENA & APAC, inaugurated the conference at Hyderabad International Convention Centre along with delivering the welcome address. This year’s theme was ‘Reinventing work, workers and workplace’.
Day one of the conference started with an immensely inspiring session by Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary to Government of Telangana, on “Entrepreneurial Leadership in the Indian context”. During the talk, he shared his views on the growing importance of entrepreneurial leadership in organizations and what it means in the context of India. Jayesh Ranjan spoke about how the government has provided support to start-ups without the hassle of unnecessary processes. He stressed on the importance of entrepreneurial mindset and action orientation for start-ups to take their products and services to the end customers effectively.
This session was followed by an exhilarating keynote session by Sharad Sharma, Co-Founder, iSPIRT Foundation, wherein he discussed how change management has become critical today, more than ever before. In his view, organizations’ that focus on the ‘orbit change’ are more successful at innovation than others.
Speaking about the conference, Ms Achal Khanna, CEO – SHRM India and Business Head- MENA & APACsaid, “The workplace environment is rapidly changing due to technology disruption and automation. In order to be on the race, organizations must respond to the changing world of work. Our main aim behind organizing the conference is to bring together the best minds of HR across the globe under one roof and to discuss extensively the changing role of HR, the need of adopting technology in HR strategies and the future of HR”. “We had received overwhelming response in our last four conferences. I am hopeful that this year too this conference would be instrumental in bringing change in HR landscape”, she added.
Sharad Sharma Co-Founder, ISPIRT Foundation spoke about orbit changes and how customers love it but not so much employees! He mentioned how orbit shifts happen when technology infrastructure, policy and market participants come together and the next possible orbit shifts in India would help create societal change. And of course how non-linear leadership archetypes can drive these orbit changes through ‘effectual’ co-creation!
