Startup Mahakumbh brings together Indian businesses at first edition in New Delhi

From March 18 to 20, the first ever edition of industry event Startup Mahakumbh brought together Indian businesses in New Delhi. The event was designed to position India as a global innovation hub and featured over 1,000 startups from India and beyond.

The event took place at Bharat Mandapam and its organisers described it as the “biggest showcase of innovation,” according to its website. Startup Mahakumbh featured different pavilions for a range of industries including deep tech, business to business and manufacturing, AI and SaaS, fintech, direct to customer and consumer, agritech, biotech and pharma, climate tech, gaming and e-sports, and incubators and accelerators. 
 
Over 1,000 investors attended the event, which featured networking opportunities, startup booths, and mentoring sessions and masterclasses. Delegations from over 10 countries attended Startup Mahakumbh and the event welcomed over 40,000 business visitors. 

The event’s organising committee included the secretary general of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India Deepak Sood, Nasscom’s president Debjani Ghosh, the Digital India Foundation’s head and co-founder Arvind Gupta, and Rukam Capital’s founder and managing partner Archana Jahagirdar among others. Startup Mahakumbh was also organised with support from TiE, the Bootstrap Incubation and Advisory Foundation, and the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association.
