Amaravati, India, September 16, 2019 : VIT AP University conducts a TEDx VITAP is a full-day event being organized by students and faculty members, with an audience of about 158 from all over the nation, held at VIT-AP University Campus. The primary goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.
The theme “The Misfits, Rebels and Genius” represents those people who see things differently- the round pegs in the square holes. They are the ones who build their own paths. They do what they like because they are not followers rather they are seekers. You can agree or disagree with them, glorify or vilify them but you cannot ignore them. Because they push their limits, they raise their own bars, and they bring changes. They dare to think the unthinkable. They do not merely survive rather they thrive.

Dr. D. Subhakar, Vice chancellor, VIT-AP said, that this event is a well-deserved break from the monotony of the college regimen and hopefully a much-needed reminder as to why students need to hustle. Students are the Millennials living in the 21s century and with all the technological and philosophical advancements in their lives. However, they are the Millennials who live their lives dealing with anxiety, afraid to face reality, afraid of missing out, afraid of not reaching the pinnacle of our lives, and yet too afraid to begin making a change.
DR. CLV Siva Kumar, Registrar, VIT-AP said, that this promoted thinking out of the box, broaden the perspective and changes the attitude of the students. Moreover, this event lends a reflection of their real selves, a vision to improve themselves as a first step to make the world a better place. Through this event, they learn what powers them to rebel and create notions which have never been thought of and this is what brings about the change for making a better future. Dr. Sameer Gokarn, Co-Ordinator, TEDxVITAP event thanked VIT-AP University Vice President Sankar Viswanathan, all the speakers & students, faculties and enthusiasts.
