ZDNET’s key takeaways

  • Baseus’ Nomos 5-in-1 Charging 140W Charging Station can quickly charge up to five devices at once and turn your desk into a productivity powerhouse.
  • The Nomos Charger cuts down on cords and clutter, and can easily replace a wireless charging pad, a USB-C multi-charger, and other cords like laptop and phone chargers.
  • Its innovative features make it easy to track the output and charging of your devices, but if you’re looking for something with a smaller profile, or just don’t need extra ports, smaller wireless or multi-chargers may be your best bet.

Gamers, work-from-home employees, and those who appreciate good innovation, unite. Baseus just simplified tabletop charging in a way that is so seamless and functional that it’s hard not to ogle the ingenious design.

The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charger is a desktop charging option that compacts popular charging options into one convenient solution and cuts down on cord clutter, which is both annoying and ugly to look at. While it looks like it’s just a black box, it’s certainly no Pandora. Quite the opposite, really. Adding it to my desk setup swiftly evaporated my need for a wireless charger, extra cables, and a multi-charger.

The Nomos 5-in-1 140W charger features a flippable 15W MagSafe Qi2 wireless charging pad, a built-in display, a retractable 100W USB-C cable, and three ports: two USB-C and one USB-A. More on those features shortly.

It retails for $150 at Baseus and Amazon, which sounds like a lot, but when you consider the value it offers and that many other wireless charging options easily press over $100, it’s actually a great buy. Anker’s foldable 3-in-1 MagSafe charger sells for $110, and while I love that portable charger, it doesn’t have a retractable cord, extra ports, or a digital display.

I first encountered the Nomos 5-in-1 station at a Baseus launch event in NYC, and was immediately impressed with how much function was packed into this tech rectangle. Now that I got my hands on it, let’s get back to the cool stuff.

On the left side of the Nomos charger is a MagSafe wireless charger that can be used elevated to charge a phone in a propped position or flat for non-MagSafe tech. It supports 15W wired charging and Qi2 for wireless charging. All in all, it charged my iPhone 14 Pro comfortably and securely, and I love that the stand features both vertical and horizontal adjustment.

Directly below is a 3.3ft 100W USB-C cable that retracts into the device itself. It locks at four different lengths so you can have the perfect length cord for all your needs, meaning you never have to deal with free-range cords or cord-wrangling contraptions again.

I find this cable to be the star of this charger because it’s a universal cord that quickly stows away to prevent desktop clutter. It even magnetically snaps back in place, meaning it doesn’t just limp off the base. Plus, a 100W cord is certainly enough to charge most USB-C compatible devices, including many laptops (like my MacBook Pro M3). As someone who tests MagSafe batteries on the regular, this cord has been a lifesaver for powering up test units during the day without any hassle.

Across from the retractable cable are two USB-C ports and a USB-A port, for charging any other devices you’d like (you have to supply the cord). Directly above these ports is where the magic happens, though. The Nomos 5-in-1 station features a real-time display of charging status for your devices.

Since the unit can handle 140W at a time, and you can multi-charge, Baseus made it easy to track your device’s charging progress. This component itself is worth its weight in cash, at least in my opinion, and not many competitors are doing tabletop function quite like this, especially at this price point.

After a few weeks of testing, my only complaint is that I wish there was a white color option to blend better with my desk and decor, and that’s really nitpicky.

ZDNET’s buying advice

If you need a practical, fast, and reliable desktop charger to reduce desktop clutter or simplify your system, look no further than Baseus’ Nomos 5-in-1 charger. It offers top features, like a display system, retractable USB-C, and 15W Qi2 charging, as well as organized and reliable charging access for all your devices and accessories whenever you need it.

I think this would be a great addition to work-from-home or gaming setups, as well as home offices, college dorms, and more. While it isn’t the most portable option available, you could totally pack this for some travel situations, too.

Baseus’ Nomos charger is truly a meticulously crafted multi-charger that’s highly functional and well worth its price tag. What’s better, though, is you can nab it on sale right now ahead of the holidays as a gift to you or a loved one.

While many sales events feature deals for a specific length of time, deals are on a limited-time basis, making them subject to expire anytime.
