Pune:UST has committed a minimum amount of Rs 10 crore to support Covid-19 relief work in India, the digital solutions provider said, adding that it will also match employee contributions to meet the increased demand for medical supplies.
The California, US-based firm, which has offices across India, said its Covid-19 relief work is focused on medical supplies and equipment for first-level treatment centres, dedicated Covid -19 treatment centers, and hospitals. UST is also helping make available oxygen supply, and other medical equipment and medicines for hospitals.
“UST is lending support and contributing to relief efforts across India. At UST, we are committed to transforming lives, and the safety of everyone is our utmost priority,” Sunil Balakrishnan, chief values officer and global head for development centres, UST.
The company will pay for two years the salaries of associates, who have succumbed to the virus. This is in addition to other financial benefits, including the UST Group Life Insurance and other statutory benefits that the deceased associates would be eligible for. UST is organising vaccination camps and providing employees additional Covid-19 leave as well.
“In the year 2020, we worked intensively towards Covid-19 relief work across UST India locations and some APAC and USA regions as well. With the employee contribution and amount committed by the company, we have supported 80,000+ lives directly through food and medical supplies,” Balakrishnan said.
The company is working with over 25 hospitals, and several other care homes and facilities in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
